Advanced Interlayer Solutions Division Projects The Glass Bridge at the Corning Museum of Glass
ADVANCED INTERLAYER SOLUTIONS
At Kuraray, it is a great honor to be part of an innovative project that has required years of research, dedication, and effort. A masterpiece that challenges the norms of design and sustainability. Spanning over 30 feet and composed of more than 130 hollow glass components, this extraordinary structure seamlessly blends beauty, creativity, and environmental responsibility. We are proud that SentryGlas® and Trosifol® Extra Stiff Pro have played a fundamental role in bringing this visionary structure to life. The glass laminates were crafted using Trosifol® Extra Stiff Pro, while structural connections were made possible with thick SentryGlas® sheets, a testament to the strength and performance of laminated glass.
The Glass Bridge demonstrates how glass—traditionally considered fragile—can be meticulously engineered to serve as a primary structural system. This pioneering application in large-scale architectural design is now open to the public at the Corning Museum of Glass in upstate New York. The project seeks to inspire architects, engineers, and researchers to rethink conventional construction methods and explore strategies that optimize material efficiency while maximizing sustainability and recyclability. Discover this revolutionary design at the Special Projects Gallery, open through September 1, 2025. Join us in celebrating the future of glass architecture!
