Some architectural projects require glass with high UV-transmittance. For example, when designing controlled environments for animals (zoos), or plants (botanical gardens and greenhouses), extra care must be taken to provide unfiltered, broad spectrum light, as close as possible to the animal’s or plant’s natural habitat. Again, Kuraray offers different options to meet our customer’s needs.

Kuraray's Advanced Interlayers are also recommended for autoclave-free processing - particularly suitable for this is Trosifol^® HR.

Trosifol^® UV Control

Trosifol^® Natural UV is an Ultra Clear PVB film with outstanding UV transmittance and fills a gap in non-standard architectural applications. SentryGlas^® Natural UV is a structural interlayer for safety glass that combines the structural performance of ionomer interlayer with increased transmittance of natural ultraviolet (UV) light. In opposite Trosifol^® UV Extra Protect blocks 100% UV rays.

Trosifol Autoclave Free

Kuraray's Advanced Interlayers are also recommended for autoclave-free processing – particularly suitable for this is Trosifol^® HR. This should be dried freely suspended for 12 hours at 10 % relative humidity (25-30 % with an autoclave) and a temperature of less than +30 °C.Used together with string ribbon crystalline Si (solar) cells, Trosifol^® HR has proven effective in many cases because of its higher surface roughness and the associated enhanced deairing of the assembly.
