Trosifol® Solar

Trosifol® Solar, an encapsulation material for solar cells, is a thermoplastic that does not cure on exposure to heat and hence displays reproducible lamination behaviour. It can be employed in conventional vacuum laminators (single-stage process) and in the two-stage process, the established method for the production of laminated safety glass, involving vacuum prelamination and subsequent lamination in autoclaves at elevated pressure.


Trosifol® Solar R40

Trosifol® Solar R40 and all other Trosifol® Solar PVB films are distinguished by their outstanding visual properties. For decades now, PVB has been the preferred plastic for safety glazing. These properties, combined with proven high long-term stability in outdoor applications even in non-edge-protected glazing, assure module manufacturers of the long-term protection of solar cells sandwiched between PVB films. For the crystalline solar cells most frequently produced and processed internationally, PVB films Trosifol® Solar R40 and Trosifol® R100 transparent are used, and exclusively in glass/glass PV modules. If a back sheet film is used as the barrier layer on the reverse, the use of Trosifol® Solar R40 combined with suitable back sheet films (e.g. with an Al barrier layer) is recommended. Clear Trosifol® Solar R40 film is UL-listed.


Trosifol® Solar R40 Ultra White

Trosifol® Solar R40 Ultra White is a multifunctional product. This PVB film provides outstanding encapsulation of the module and its pronounced whiteness strongly reflects the light over a broad wavelength range. This significantly improves module efficiency and increases energy yield. In a-Si/µ-Si modules, it improves efficiency by up to 2 % with its improved reflectance and extra high whiteness.


Trosifol® Solar UV+

Trosifol® Solar UV+ is a groundbreaking PVB encapsulation film with a modified formulation. This highly transparent film with outstanding UV transmittance increases the energy yield of crystalline UV-selective solar cells and CIS/CIGS thin-layer solar modules still further. The film shows excellent resistance to heat, UV radiation and other environmental influences.


Trosifol® Solar R100

If Trosifol® Solar PVB films are to be used in a conventional module type or in a module type with a new cell technology, Trosifol®'s Technical Service should be contacted.

For the crystalline solar cells most frequently produced and processed internationally, PVB films Trosifol® Solar R40 and Trosifol® Solar R100 transparent are used, and exclusively in glass/glass PV modules.

Trosifol® Solar R100 is ideal for laminated glass modules produced in the vacuum bag or autoclave process. Trosifol® Solar R100 is particularly suitable for extra-large solar modules.
